MAN BOUND AND GAGGED IN HOME IN EPWORTH
A returned resident was found dead, gagged and bound with duct tape, Tuesday evening, September 2, 2025, after he went missing the day before in his community of Epworth, St Ann.
The dead man has been identified as Errol Henry, who had returned to Jamaica after living in Canada for years.
Reports are that Mr Henry was last seen walking in the community about 7:00 on Monday, September 1. He was not seen all day Tuesday and early evening, curious residents went to his home to enquire.
Residents found Mr Henry dead in his house. His body was reportedly wrapped in duct tape and his mouth and nose were also covered with tape.
Councillor for the Beecher Town Division Ian Bell said he was saddened by the murder. He said the community was traumatized by the incident. “It is sad, I condemn every act of violence.” He said it was a shame that someone like Mr Henry, who had gone away and worked in the cold and came home to enjoy his senior years, met such an end. in this manner.”
Bell said there has been no major incident of crime in the community for at least six years. He said Epworth is one of the most peaceful communities in his division of Beecher Town.
