EARLY MORNING ARSON ATTACK IN ST MARY

Quick action by a St Mary resident may have saved his home from burning down and even loss of life in a fire that hoodlums set.
According to police reports to the North Coast Times, at about 5:30 a.m., Friday, February 14, a resident of Grant’s Town, near Port Maria was at home when he heard liquid being poured inside the kitchen. Upon investigation, the homeowner observed two men, dressed in black and wearing ski masks, pouring what appeared to be a flammable liquid around the house.
One of the men then lit a piece of cloth and threw it inside the house, setting it ablaze. The men made good their escape. The homeowner managed to extinguish the fire using water stored inside his kitchen. no injuries were reported.
The police are working to determine the motive behind the suspected arson and to identify the perpetrators. In the meantime, residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
