ST MARY FESTIVAL QUEEN CONTESTANTS ON THE ROAD
(Before they got their hands and shirts dirty)
Only days after they were sashed as contestants in the Miss St Mary Festival Queen Competition, the six ladies seeking the crown took to the streets on Labour Day, Thursday, May 23 to volunteer their services.
The focus of the day was on people with disabilities, the elderly, and the vulnerable. The Festival Queen contestants took part in the parish project in Gayle, St Mary. The project involved the painting of the sidewalks, parking areas, and bushing of the roadways in the town of Gayle.
(Getting ready)
The contestants took to their task with energy, even though some had to be directed by municipal police and other St Mary Municipal Corporation staff as they did their work.
(This is how you do it….)
The contestants, sashed on Saturday night, May 18 and who were out on Thursday are:
Shamoya Bailey, Miss Airy Hill; Oneika Coubrie, Miss Brainerd; Kimita Henry, Miss Huddersfield; Dahmoi Dozovado, Miss Bailey’s Vale; Tavara Bolton, Miss Newport and Damilia Gabbidon – Miss Three Hills
