INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION CELEBRATED AS SEAL OF HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION

Educators and education administrators have been saluting Moneague College for their attainment of Institutional Accreditation.
The college was informed in January 2025, that it has attained Institutional Accreditation (IA) from the University Council. The award followed months of rigorous examination of student output, faculty qualification and administrative systems and it was determined that the college’s operations and systems were achieving quality education.

The Moneague College on Sunday, February 16, started its celebration with a worship service at the main campus in Moneague, St Ann, that was followed on Monday by a “Celebratory Congress” at the same venue.
MONEAGUE COLLEGE GIVES PRAISE FOR INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION
On Monday, February 17, 2025, leaders in education administration were at the college outlining their assessment of what IA meant, praising the achievement, and outlining the opportunities for The Moneague College.

Addressing the gathering of educators and administrators, scores of students, alumni and members of the community, Principal Howard Isaacs said it was a proud moment for him and a defining one for the college. He gave praise and credit to past Boards, faculty, staff and students on the journey to the attainment of IA.

Mr Isaacs said that although IA was a remarkable accomplishment it was not the destination for the college. “Let us embrace the changes that institutional accreditation brings and work collaboratively towards even greater achievement,” he said.

Board chairman Professor John Lindo, also thanked past and present boards, faculty, staff, and students. He said IA meant that Moneague College had the tools and framework to respond to the changing needs of the education market.
Keynote speaker was CEO of the Jamaica Tertiary Education Commission, Dr Dameon Black. He explored the history of tertiary-level education in Jamaica and praised the Moneague for its attainment of IA.

Also speaking at the college and saluting The Moneague were: Former board chairman Ambassador Aloun Ndombet Assamba; assistant Chief Education Officer for the Tertiary Unit at the Ministry of Education Youth and Information, Dr Tamika Benjamin; Executive Director Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica, Dr Donna Powell-Wilson; and Manager of the Joint Board of Teacher Education, Dr Joan Spencer Ernandez.
Michael Foster, lecturer led the devotion. The vote of thanks was delivered by a Year 2 student, Chadilia McKenzie.
