2 MEN ARRESTED IN FIRST GUN SEIZURE FOR 2024
A Portland man and his son have been charged with the gun and ammunition find by the police, on Tuesday, January 23, in Rivers View District, in the parish.
They are Wilton Clarke also called “Sweetness”, 55-year-old mason and Odane Clarke also called Shane 26-year-old farmer, both of River’s View District, Rio Grande Valley, Portland.
The police report that on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 about 11:00 am the home of both men was searched, using a warrant. During the search, one black 9mm Beretta pistol was found, along with one magazine containing ten (10) 9mm cartridges and an empty magazine. Both men were arrested and a question-and-answer interview was conducted with them in the presence of their attorney after which they were both charged for the offences.
They are to face the Portland Parish Court on a date to be set.
Last year the Portland Police recovered nine firearms and 82 rounds of ammunition.
