DISUPTE WAS OVER A PAIR OF SHOES

Police say a Portland man who ran down another and pulled two guns after beating him with a machete has been charged.
Charged is 24-year-old construction worker Akeill Osbourne, otherwise known as ‘Kielly.’ Of Windsor Forest, Portland. Osbourne has been charged with possession of prohibited weapon, assault at common law, and assault occasioning bodily harm arising out of an incident in Windsor Forest district in the parish on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Reports from the Port Antonio Police are that Osbourne and a man had an ongoing dispute over a pair of shoes. About 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, the dispute escalated.
It is alleged that Osbourne used a machete to slap the man multiple times, causing swelling and bruising. The man ran to escape further injuries. He was allegedly chased by Osbourne and picked up a stone to defend himself. It is further reported that Osbourne brandished two handguns, pointed them at the man, and told him to drop the stone. The man complied and was rescued by residents shortly after.
A report was made to the police, and the accused was taken into custody during an operation in the community. Osbourne was charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His court date is being finalised.
