For administrative purposes, St Mary is divided into four Zones. The fiesta took place in Zone 4, including Prospect, Gayle, Oracabessa, and Retreat points stations.

However, teams also came from neighbouring Portland to participate in the Fiesta.

Conceived by Inspector Patricia Eccleston, Zone 4 Commander, the event aimed to foster collaboration and engagement between police and the community through sports and positive interactions.

The festivities featured various exciting activities, including netball and football matches and relay races. Police teams competed with players from across multiple communities, showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship. The event also included a Kiddies Corner, where children enjoyed free bounce-a-bout and trampoline rides. Police provided refreshments throughout the day.

In a release, the St Mary police said: “The Partnership Fiesta was more than just a social event; it provided a unique opportunity for residents to interact with officers in a relaxed setting, fostering trust and mutual respect. Residents deeply appreciated the initiative, calling it a refreshing and meaningful experience that strengthens community bonds.”
