Police boat missing; $500,000 reward offered
Police are offering a reward of half a million dollars for information leading to the location of a police 28-foot boat that went missing from Negril, Westmoreland last week Thursday, February 11.
Police say they have launched a multi agency probe into the disappearance of a Boston Whaler Vessel, assigned to the Marine Police Division that was discovered missing from where it was docked in Negril.
The vessel is a grey 28-foot Boston Whaler boat with ‘JCF 282’ written on the side and fitted with two 200 horse power Yamaha engines.
According to CCU: “Reports are that the vessel was last seen on Wednesday, February 10 about 10:30 p.m. and was discovered missing the following Thursday about 10:00 a.m. As such, diligent search operations are being carried out at all fishing beaches with a view of locating the vessel.
The police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist with the investigations to contact the Marine HQ at 923-9728, Criminal Investigations Branch HQ at 922-4487, Police 119 emergency number, Crime Stop at 311, 811 or the nearest Police Station.”
The police did not indicate if the boat was last seen at its facility and was under its guard.
