OVER 100 GRADUATE FROM MONEAGUE COLLEGE

GRADUATES CHALLENGED TO TAKE THE VALUES OF THE COLLEGE WHEREVER THEY GO

MONEAGUE, St Ann; Jan. 30, 2026

More than 100 students graduated from The Moneague College, St. Ann, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, earning Bachelor’s and Associate Degrees across a wide range of disciplines. The graduation ceremony was a landmark occasion, celebrating the academic achievements, resilience, and personal growth of the Class of 2025 in a dignified and joyful atmosphere shared by faculty, families, and invited guests.

Graduands from programmes including Business, Environmental Studies, Hospitality and Tourism, and Social Sciences proudly crossed the stage, marking the culmination of years of dedication and hard work. Beyond academic success, the ceremony highlighted leadership, service, and community engagement—core pillars of the College’s holistic approach to education.

Abigail Williams, delivering the Valedictory address

A major highlight of the programme was the recognition of outstanding student awardees, whose exceptional performance and commitment distinguished them among their peers. Abigail Williams was named Most Outstanding Community Colleges of Jamaica student and also served as Class Valedictorian, graduating with the highest GPA. Moecia Kelly received the Richard McGibbon Trophy for Most Outstanding Food and Beverage Management Student, while Stacey Ann Morris was awarded the Winnifred Brown Trophy for outstanding performance in Hospitality and Tourism.

The Sagicor Trophy for Most Outstanding Humanities Student was presented to Chadilia McKenzie, and Kristina Lumsden Miller received the Principal’s Trophy for exemplifying the College spirit through leadership and sports, including her representation as a member of the national volleyball team. Rose-Ann Blackwood, having successfully served as President of the Guild of Students, was specially recognized for upholding the values of Dignity, Decorum, and Discipline.

The keynote address was delivered by  Rhoda Moy Crawford, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information. Her address challenged graduates to carry five essential values into the next phase of their lives: know who you are; be intentional about your goals; never cheat your way into anything; respect everyone’s dignity; and ground your life in faith.

IIn remarks to graduates, Principal Howard Isaacs encouraged them to carry the values of integrity, resilience, service, and excellence wherever they go, while Board Chairman Prof. John Lindo affirmed that they were well prepared to navigate uncertainty and contribute meaningfully through volunteerism, entrepreneurship, and community development.

The ceremony concluded with the inaugural Alumni Call, featuring the recitation of the Alumni Pledge and the presentation of commemorative alumni pins, formally welcoming graduates into the Moneague College alumni community and reaffirming the institution’s mission to produce principled, engaged citizens.
