Thank you for being here! We appreciate you and want to welcome you to Child and Youth Development Solutions. Week after week, you will receive knowledge and practical skills to help you in your journey of molding the next generation. Whether you are a teacher, trying to cope in the classroom; a parent doing your best for your children; a youth worker, a guidance counsellor, a psychologist or a social worker who is trying to provide guidance for young people; or someone who just wants to see the next generation do well – I want to applaud you for your interest in this area!
It is no secret that our nation’s children and youth are in trouble! Schools are bombarded with issues of violence to the point where murders are being committed right on school compounds! Not to scare you, but if drastic actions are not taken, things will continue to deteriorate drastically! You already know the issues facing our children and youth. The million-dollar question is: “What do we do to change the trajectory of our young people?”
The purpose of this series is to do just that! There is hope for our children and youth and this series will provide you with the knowledge and skills that you need to mold children and youth in a positive direction. Youth will learn more about the Positive Youth Development Philosophy, how to develop social and emotional competencies in children and youth, how to effectively use Positive Discipline and how to build confident and successful children and youth who believe in themselves and their abilities! I am excited about our journey together and look forward to sharing with you and getting your feedback and experiences.
Always remember to focus on the positives because “where focus goes, energy flows, and results show!”
