A man is dead and another hospitalized following a machete attack on Tuesday night, May 2 in Stewart Town, St. Mary.
Dead is 23-year-old Jovane Simms, a labourer of Mango Valley, St. Mary.
Reports are that about 7:20 p.m., the men, who are cousins, were at their aunt’s restaurant in Stewart Town.
After they left the restaurant to return home, they were allegedly pounced upon and later chased by a man with a machete.
Simms was later found lying on the ground with a chop wound to both sides of his neck. He died at hospital.
It is understood that Simms’ cousin was also attacked and is in hospital in serious condition.
The alleged attacker has not been caught by the police.
