OCHO RIOS HIGH ROLLOVER YORK CASTLE

D’BAY PICK UP POINT DESPITE POOR FINISHING

Ocho Rios High smashed York Castle in one of the biggest victory margins among St Ann schools in Zone ‘K’ to stay atop the group in the Wata DaCosta Cup competition.

Keanu Reid pumped in a hat trick and Tyrese Brown scored two. Also on the scorecard were Kaneil Brown and Kemar Reynolds with one a piece.

Tyrese Brown appears to be in fine form having scored three in the previous match, against Aabuthnott Gallimore.

Luck was on York Castle’s side in the first half when, at half-time, the score card showed 1-0, after several near misses by the Ocho Rios forwards.

But the second half saw a more purposeful Ocho Rios team with the score at the end showing the dominance of the boys from Ochi.

Also in Zone ‘K’ Marcus Garvey beat Aabuthnott Gallimore 2-1 at Alexandria

St Ann team Discovery Bay,  playing in Zone D with teams from the west, picked up one point in a match against Holland at Holland, near Falmouth.

Coach Alberto Singh said he was disappointed in the result. He said on his count his team created at least a dozen chances. However, he said the finishing was really bad. He said it appeared the team went to the match with a mindset that victory was already theirs. He said the coaching team tried but failed in convincing the boys that they had to work hard to win the game and it wasn’t over until it was over.
