An island wide march against violence against women will have a local staging in Ocho Rios, on International Women’s Day, Wednesday March 8.
The organizers are Shena Carty, Jelen-Ann (Kameika) Brown, Jamaica Madhouse Charity and Jamaicans Against Violence.
The group has linked with representatives from the Jamaican Diaspora, and other partners in Jamaica, to plan an island wide march for peace. This march -The International Women’s Day March- will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. In an effort to garner as much support as possible, there will be at least one march organized in each parish, complete with individual speakers, victims and families of victims sharing their testimonials.
The march for St Ann begins outside Irie FM and goes to old road, down to Pineapple, on to Ocho Rios centre, continuing on Main Street, down pass old KFC, turns at Margaritaville, then up the bypass, turns towards bus park, then to the clock.
