OCHI HIGH BEAT YC TO MAKE IT 3 STRAIGHT WINS

 

2 OCHI BOWLERS SMASH ONCE-POWERFUL YORK CASTLE

Ocho Rios High School beat York Castle High on Saturday to win their third match in a row in the Grace Headley Cup Cricket competition for rural schools.

In the match played at York Castle in Brown’s Town, on February 3, Ocho Rios High won the toss and put York Castle to bat first.

York Castle High made 45 all out, with none of their batters getting to double figures.

They fell victim to pacer, Rushawn Lynch – seven for 27, and Jadeek Walker who took a hattrick (three wickets)  without conceding a run. (Rushawn Lynch )

In reply, Ocho Rios High School made 48 for six, to win by four wickets.

Reando Kelly made 19 and Walker, following his bowling exploits came back to make five runs.

Bowling for York Castle High Marco-Dean Clarke took 3 wickets for 23 runs and Jajuan Brown 3 wickets for 14 runs.

Ocho Rios High Coach Damion Wolliston told the North Coast Times: “It was an excellent display from our bowlers to restrict York Castle for 45.” He commended Rushawn Lynch and Jadeek Walker who shared the wickets. “The team is really growing and we are looking forward to our next game against Cornwall College on Tuesday,” Coach Wolliston said.

Last week York Castle had a no-result match against Brown’s Town High, when bad light stopped play.
