Ochi double murder Cops seeking killers

The police are intensifying their search for the gunmen who carried out a brazen, deadly attack on two men in Ocho Rios last Thursday.

Dead are 56-year-old Timothy White, otherwise called Natty, a businessman and David Allen, alias Beckham, of Pimento Walk in the parish.

Police have so far said that White, who was a deportee, may have been the target of the murder.

The daylight double murder has had people in Ocho Rios concerned and some expressing fear about the type of violence seen in recent times.

Reports from the Ocho Rios police are that about 3:45 p.m., White and the other man were standing on the Ocho Rios Bypass, near the Old Buckfield community, when a motorcar drove up and armed men aboard opened gunfire, hitting them.

White reportedly died at the scene, while Allen died at hospital during treatment.

Other reports to the North Coast Times are that  White and Allen had just walked up to a shop and were standing on the piazza near several other businesses when two men on foot crossed the bypass road  and walked up to the men  and opened fire at point blank range.

WHY THE KILLING

Both men fell as shocked men attached to the other business places ran away. The gunmen walked back across the bypass road and entered a car and left the area. The shooting took place less than a quarter mile from the Ocho Rios police station.

Some have theorized that the killing may have stemmed from the shooting death of 55-year-old Michael Brown in Mansfield Heights, also called Falklands, last month.

Brown was at a shop, when men drove up in a car and opened gunfire at him. He received multiple injuries and died at hospital.

He was reportedly a complainant in a matter related to a murder case.
