Brown’s Town, York Castle Stay Second in ‘Zone of Death’

Ochi team before the match. Still in the hunt

Ocho Rios High got back into the race in the ‘Zone of Death’,  for one of the Inter-Zone spots, with a well fought 1-0 win over William Knibb, away in Falmouth, Trelawny.

An 86th minute strike by Kaniel Brown gave the St Ann team all three points in the game.

With the win, Ocho Rios High are up to six points after three games.

Knibb who were pre-season favourites have suffered two major losses, going down to Brown’s Town and now Ocho Rios. They are on three points.

Cedric Titus remains at the top of the zone with nine points having won all three of their matches. They hammered Discovery Bay High 10-0.

Brown’s Town continued their hunt for a spot with a 2-0 win over Aabuthnott Gallimore (AG), remaining in second position with seven points. Both goals were scored in the first half, from the boot of Oral Campbell.

The game was competitive with end-to-end action. Both goalkeepers were called upon to make crucial saves

AG coach Andrew Morris said his team would continue to fight. He said it’s hard to take any loss but he was encouraged by a  better second half performance by his team and the chances they created. They also have three points.

Brown’s Town are equal on points with York Castle (YC). The Brown’s Town-based YC beat Ferncourt 3-0.
