Brown’s Town Could Climb Up Tables
(Ocho Rios High School D’Cup team that beat York Castle, Tuesday)
Ocho Rios High knocked down high-flying York Castle (YC) High Tuesday to maintain their hunt for one of the top two coveted places in Zone ‘C’.
The team from the resort town beat York Castle 4 goals to 2 in a consequential match between bitter rivals at football, Tuesday, September 26.
In the match played at Drax Hall, York Castle scored first through Devontae Robinson, with less than two minutes on the clock. However, within five minutes, Ocho Rios brought the game to 1-1
From then it was Ocho Rios who took control of the half ending it with a 3-1 score line.
The coaching team at Ocho Rios believe they could have scored several more goals in the second half when each side scored one each. The Ochi coaching team says chances were not converted as the foot was taken off the gas. In the end, the game finished Ocho Rios 4, York Castle 2.
Scoring for Ocho Rios were: Keanu Reid 2, Tajay McIntosh 1, and Tajean Bird 1. McIntosh and Reid have each scored six for Ocho Rios.
For YC Tereke Thompson and Devontae Robinson were the scorers. Coach for YC Danie Clarke said he was disappointed in the result. He said his team did enough in the game to get something out of it. However, he congratulated Ocho Rios on playing well and being “deserving winner.” He said his team is growing and learning with each game.
TITUS BACK IN LEAD
In the other Zone ‘C’ game on Tuesday, Sept. 26, Cedric Titus smashed Aabuthnott Gallimore 10-0. It was the Alexandria-based team ‘s worst result this season.
It was Cedric Titu’s first match following their shocking 0-3 derby loss to William Knibb. Titus maintain their lead of the Zone with 12 points from 5 matches. YC are on 10 in second place, also from five matches, Ocho Rips are in third with nine points but have played only four matches.
Brown’s Town cannot be ruled out as they have seven points from just three matches, with the potential to go to 13 should they win the next two.
They continue their hunt Wednesday at Drax Hall against lowly placed Ferncourt. William Knibb will look forward to hosting Discovery Bay in Falmouth at 3:30.
