TURBIDITY BLAMED FOR LOCK OFF
ST ANN’S BAY, St Ann; April 24, 2026
The National Water Commission (NWC) is reporting that its customers in Mammee Bay, Steer Town, and some nearby communities are without water.
In a release Friday morning, April 24, the NWC said, “Customers in Mammee Bay, Steer Town Housing Scheme – Phases 1&2, Roaring River Housing Scheme, and nearby areas in St. Ann, are experiencing no water due to high turbidity following heavy rain at the Roaring River Facility..
Additional areas affected include Chalky Hill, Hermitage, Malvern Park, Davis Town, and nearby areas.
The Commission said it would “restore supply as soon as conditions improve.” However, no suggested time was given.
