No motive for missionaries’ deaths

Police have been grappling with the question ‘why two missionaries were brutally murdered in St Mary?’And members of the FBI from the US and top Jamaican detectives — still don’t have the answer/s, that would be a crucial piece of the jigsaw in solving the murder.

The missionaries killed are Harold Nichols, 53, and 48-year-old Randy Hentzel. They were members of Teams for Medical Missions.

Residents of St Mary, some of whom are still hurting and puzzled over the murders are still asking “Why?”  The answer is not clear.

The man incharge of the crime portfolio for Jamaica, ACP Ealan Powell told the North Coast Times Monday that police still did not have a motive for the crime that has further sullied Jamaica’s name.

Local police had earlier told The Times that the motive did not appear to be robbery. Two knap sacks and a cell phone was taken from the two men whose bodies were found near to their motorcycles, on a deserted section of roadway near Albion Mountain, St Mary. Cops believe that had robbery been the motive the bikes would have been taken. ACP Powell say it’s believed that more than one person was involved and that there were two separate attacks that killed the men.160sdsd502-jamaica-msdsdsdissionaries
