KIWANIS CLUBS KEEP UP TRADITION ON MATERNITY WARD
There was a special gift for the first baby born on New Year’s Day at the St Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital.
Other mothers and their babies in the Maternity Ward on Monday, January 1, also got gifts
The treat to the newborn came from the Kiwanis Clubs of Division 24 Jamaica. The clubs represent the parishes St Ann, St. Mary, and Portland. Division 24, led by Lieutenant Governor Josette Williams, comprises thirteen clubs.
In making the presentations the clubs were returning to practice started in 2016 with their the First Born Baby project at St. Ann’s Bay Hospital on January 1, 2016.

The Club’s leadership pointed out that their presentations on Monday extended beyond the first mother to give birth on the day.
They also presented tokens to all mothers and nurses in the maternity ward.
Thirty-two mothers were gifted. The project was sponsored by Facey Commodity and the Kiwanis clubs of Division 24, spearheaded by Project Chair Donna Coombs and her team.
