This school has as its motto “Learning together for a brighter tomorrow”. New Testament Assembly Basic School is an early childhood institution which has been catering towards the development of the young minds of Hamilton Mountain for four decades.
The school was founded by the Brown family of Hamilton Mountain, in 1966 in a one room structure. The school has transitioned since that time through the strong leadership of retired principal Eulalee Brown-Miller. She served as principal for over 30 years.
The school is now located in a building that was reserved for missionaries on the property of the New Testament Assembly Church of God in Hamilton Mountain. New Testament Assembly Basic School has four members of staff which includes a principal, two teachers and a cook. There are 38 students on roll at the school.
The principal of the school, Sharill Lyle, who also is a Grade 3 teacher, explained to The Times that the institution has qualified teachers who are certified through HEART in early childhood education. “At the New Testament Assembly Basic School, we are guided by the Early Childhood Commission and we ensure that quality education is guaranteed to our students. We incorporate various learning methods to our main areas of study and also introduce the children to Spanish as an extra supplement,” explained Sharill Lyle.
The school has been and continues to be supported by the community of Hamilton Mountain.
The school has produced many successful individuals throughout the years who have excelled in all areas of life, according to the principal.
