New bathroom facilities have been opened at the Steer Town playfield in Steer Town , St Ann.
The sanitary facilities were built by councillor for the Lime Hall Division Genevor Gordon-Bailey. The project is the first to be completed under the Legacy Project initiative which was launched earlier this year by the St Ann Municipal Corporation.
Under the programme , every two months ,,two Councillors are allotted an amount of one point three million dollars ($1.3M) to undertake a special project in his or her division.
The Steer Town legacy project which took two months to be completed includes a male and a female bathroom, showers and a seating area.
Councillor Gordon – Bailey said the bathrooms were built just in time for the benefit of schools in the area that will be using the playfield to host their sports events. Another set of bathrooms are also in the community centre.
She is appealing to persons in the area to take the best care of the facilities and ensure that they are not vandalized and always kept nice and clean.
