ST MARY COPS STEP UP ANTI-CRIME ACTIVITIES

A 21-year-old man accused of a 2023 murder in St Mary has been arrested and a gun seized.
He is Ronald Davis, also called “King,” an unemployed man from Iterboreale, Annotto Bay. He was captured Thursday as police in St Mary stepped up anti-crime efforts with targeted raids.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that Davis was captured during a targeted operation in Robins Bay, St. Mary, on Friday, January 10, 2025, around 8:45 p.m.
Police say, acting on intelligence, they intercepted a grey Toyota Fielder motorcar in the Robins Bay area. A search of the vehicle and occupants led to the recovery of a Glock 19 pistol loaded with sixteen rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Davis was travelling with two men and a woman at the time of his arrest. All occupants were taken into custody, and the vehicle was seized as investigations continue.
EARLY MORNING RAID
Meantime, as the St Mary Police continue to be proactive and go after criminal elements, a major operation took place Thursday, January 10, from the pre-dawn hours.

The operation was concentrated in Bailey’s Vale and its environs, near Port Maria. Police said it targeted “crime hotspots with a focus on apprehending wanted individuals, high-risk offenders, and recovering illegal firearms, ammunition, and lottery scamming paraphernalia.”
This initiative was led by Acting Superintendent Anthony Wallace and involved a multi-agency team involving over 100 officers from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and Jamaica Defence Force (JDF). Units participating included the Area 2 Fugitive Apprehension Team, Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), Canine, Specialized Operations, National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) and the Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB).
