Opportunities are open for young boys with footballing skills to get top-class education and develop their talents as footballers.
Mount Pleasant Academy, associated with this year’s Jamaica Premier League Champions, Mount Pleasant Football Club (FC) is taking applications from boys between 11 and 15 years of age who are believed to have unique talent at the beautiful game.
Those chosen to follow the programme at Mount Pleasant will get quality tuition in typical secondary education academic subjects.
In addition, successful applications will also be afforded boarding at the Academy near Runaway Bay, in St Ann.
Football Director at Mount Pleasant, Howard Thomas, says they are looking for 20 to 25 children to enter the programme this year. He said the academy is seeking youngsters with “elite talent” and the Club has the resources to develop those skills and unearth others.

Registration for entry and scholarships closes on July 2.
There will be an assessment of the physical and athletic ability of the applicants to determine who will be chosen for the scholarships. Those trials will take place on July 8 with a series of activities at the playfields at the Mount Salem Academy.
