THIRD GROUP IN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS
Another group of Haitians has arrived in Portland.
The exact number who arrived is not known at this time but they arrived on a small boat, Sunday, October 15, about 4:30 p.m. They landed at Long Bay.
Portlanders immediately made them comfortable and called the police. However, there are reports that at least three of them ran away before locals realized what was happening.
Two boatloads of Haitians arrived weeks apart in September. One set has been returned home while the first group is going through asylum processing while being held in St Mary.
