MORE CURFEWS IMPOSED IN ST MARY

ALBION MTN, RETREAT, BAILEY’S VALE & BOSCOBEL UNTIL FRIDAY

Curfews were clamped on four distinct areas of St Mary on Wednesday evening, April 30, 2025.

The areas are  Albion Mountain, Retreat, Bailey’s Vale, and Boscobel

Police said the curfews will run for 48 hours, from Wednesday, 6 p.m., until Friday evening, May 2, 2025, at 6 o’clock.

Police said the security measure was imposed “in response to recent incidents of violence, increased gang-related activity, motor vehicle theft, and residential break-ins within the affected communities.”

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) wishes to advise the public that a 48-hour curfew has been imposed in sections of Albion Mountain, Retreat, Bailey’s Vale, and Boscobel in the parish of St. Mary. The curfew will take effect at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, and will remain in force until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025.

They said further that these measures are part of the JCF’s continued strategic efforts to suppress criminal activity, prevent reprisals, restore public confidence, and maintain peace and order.

The St Mary Police and other units outside the parish have been carrying out multiple raids and other operations. There have been curfews in several communities, including those listed above and others in Port Maria and Annotto Bay areas.
