Cop, two others appear in court

A policeman and his two co-accused charged for the murder of 25-year-old Anthony Hudson, of Zion Hill Richmond in St Mary, are behind bars as the murdered man’s mother begs for the body.

The Times broke the story last week reporting that a cop and two others were in custody awaiting a ruling from  the DPP over the death of  Hudson. Police have not found a body but say the police constable and two men killed Hudson and buried his body. Police have gone to several locations but have been unable to find the body of Hudson. Charged and to appear again in  court for mention of the case are: Constable Fabian Henry who is assigned to the St Catherine North police; 23-year-old Neville Anderson  and his 53-year-old father Franklyn Anderson.

The three appeared in court Friday, Marc h 21, 2014, after being charged Wednesday following a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions. They were remanded and are to return to court April 3.

Hudson went missing January 25 this year. The Times reported last week that it was believed that Hudson was killed over an illegal gun that he had not been able to account for. It was not clear up to the weekend who the gun belonged to or why Hudson allegedly had it. However, police have information that Hudson was killed in the Esher area in  the parish and that the three men, including the cop were involved. Hudson’s mother who lives in  Portmore, St Catherine, told The Times that her son, one of three children for her, was very jovial, caring and a fun person. “I was close to my son. He was jovial and loved to talk. Sometimes he would just come up behind me and just kiss me and laugh.” She said when she last spoke to him, January 17, when he visited her at her business place, it as another fun occasion and nothing seemed amiss. She said now that it appears he is dead, she just wants to get his body to give him a proper burial so his children could know where their father was buried. Hudson died leaving three children, the eldest five years old and the other two being two years old and eight months old. “I just want even the bones because I had the best of him already…We could get some closure even if we could get the bones. We are a family we want to bury him properly. You mean they just kill him and decide on the funeral and they are the doctor, and the pastor and the congregation at the funeral. We don’t get anything!” She said it is a hard time for her and the family as she was unable to eat or sleep but members of her church have been very supportive and have been praying for her.
