Mom chopped while intervening in dispute

A mother was on the receiving end of a dispute in which she was chopped while allegedly trying to protect her son.

The accused man is Dennis Morston of Frontier, Port Maria, St.Mary. He pleaded not guilty to the charge of unlawful wounding when he appeared before the Port Maria Resident Magistrate Court on Thursday, November 12.

Reports are that on September 28 of this year, Morston had a dispute with the complainant’s son and chased him with a machete. The complainant, who is the mother of the male who was being chased, went into the middle of the dispute and was allegedly chopped on the right hand, by Morston

Morston was ordered by presiding resident magistrate Andrea Collins to give his fingerprints to the police.

The matter is set to be mentioned in the night court on December 8. Morston’s bail was extended.
