A woman and her son who died days apart were buried Saturday, March 25, following a huge thanksgiving service at the Ocho Rios Baptist Church, St Ann.

The general feeling expressed before and since the service is that the death of Elaine Trench, February 16, at age 72, following a stroke, was spawned by a “broken heart” after her last child, Wesley, was murdered near their home at Priory, St Ann, February 11.

Wesley Trench was 32, winning awards as a sales representative, and had recently gone into business with relatives when he was stabbed and killed, cut down not far from his sports bar, by what was described at the funeral service as evil persons and haters of light. It was emotional though not dwelling on the deaths and saw many teary eyes.

The service was a packed one with many glowing tributes that spoke of the two, as part of a loving caring family that faced obstacles and overcame them.

Following the service, the two were interred at the family plot in Runaway Bay.  That was followed by a repast at Priory Beach near the family home.
