Miss Universe Jamaica North East Casting In Ochi Saturday

Caribbean’s Next Top Model 2017 Shamique Simms is Special Guest

Organizers of Miss Universe Jamaica North East for 2023 are seeking contestants to enter the pageant.

A curtain call to see prospective entrants will be held on Saturday, March 4, at Mongoose Restaurant and Lounge in Ocho Rios, starting at 11:30 a.m. Interested young women are being urged to take advantage of what could turn out to be a life-changing opportunity for them.

The Caribbean’s Next Top Model 2017, Shamique Simms, will be guest judge at the curtain call, as she lends her talent to help select the cream of the crop for the regional finals in April.

“We are encouraging young ladies who are between the ages of 18 and 27 to turn out for a chance to represent the region in the grand finals later this year; bring your heels and swimwear,” said committee member Kaydian Harty, who is a past contestant in the event.

She said she is encouraged by the number of young ladies showing interest in the pageant and have actually registered already.

“We are still looking for sponsors and are urging the business sector to support the event as there are numerous benefits to be gained from being associated with the Miss Universe brand,” Harty said.

This year, the Jamaica Cancer Society St Ann St Mary Branch will benefit from part proceeds from the pageant.
