Miss Capture Land Competition Provides Fun For Community

It was fun and excitement at the inaugural Miss Capture Land talent competition held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Parry Town, St Ann. The competition was held in recognition of two community members who were killed in a motor vehicle accident in the Dunn’s River vicinity in April 2011. Angella “Miss Frilly” Jones, coordinator of the event hosted the pageant in honour of her two sons who died in a motor vehicular crash in the community. The pageant had twelve contestants, ages eight to twelve. It gave them the opportunity to showcase their talents in the form of singing, dancing and poetry. Walking away with the title of Miss Capture Land 2014 was the talented Kayanne Bailey. Some of the sectional prizes included Best Smile, which was won by Jammalia Simpson; Best Creative Wear won by Kayanne Bailey; Best Talent Piece by Maressa Foreman and Assaffron Byfield and Best Evening Wear went to Maressa Foreman. The voters’ choice award went to Kayanne Bailey while Moyisher Ashley won the award for being Most Helpful and Tishaney Ennis for being Most Disciplined. Sponsors included Millbrow Taxi services, Big Ben Meats & Groceries, Chuck’s Bakery, Techno Photo Services, Wendy’s Wholesale, Master Mac Enterprize, Ghetto Shop, Computer Wizz and Gentles Haberdashery
