MINI MISS PORTLAND TO BE CROWNED SUNDAY

5 GIRLS AGE 12 AND UNDER CONTESTING FINALS

Five girls will compete to be crowned Mini Miss Portland Heritage Queen in Port Antonio on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

The coronation, the first stage of the competition, takes place at Port Antonio High School in the Portland capital, beginning at 6 p.m.

Under the theme “Raising Young Leaders Through Cultural Identity and Grace,” this event offers a platform for girls ages 7 to 12 to showcase not only their beauty, but also their knowledge, confidence, and love for Jamaican heritage,” the organizers say.

The aim of the Double D Promotions, competition organizers,  led by CEO Damion Duckett Is to hold the competition across all the parishes, in a similar way to the Festival Queen Contest.

The director of the Contest in Portland is Natasha Harriott-Ford. She said her vision is to empower the next generation through cultural pride and leadership development.

Contesting the Portland competition are: seven-year-old Rhianna Ford and 11-year-old Zalika Fullerton, both representing Bloomfield Primary; nine-year-old Tiara Gordon, from Shirley Castle Primary; 12-year-old Alianna Scott, and 12-year-old Shayde Anderson representing, both representing Titchfield High.

According to Mrs Harriott-Ford, each participant brings her own flair and passion for culture, and will compete in categories including talent, cultural expression, and poise, all while embracing the values of grace and leadership.

She says Sunday’s crowning promises to be a night of elegance, inspiration, and cultural upliftment in the heart of Portland.
