ONE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT, OTHER FOR KNIFE ATTACK

Two men have been charged in separate incidents for attacks on women in St Ann.
They are Oral Brown, aka ”Ratty” of Nine Miles St Ann and Kemar York of St Thomas.
- A man who kicked open the door of a woman in Discovery Bay and attacked and stabbed her has been charged.
He is thirty-eight-year-old Kemar York, a labourer, of Llandewy, St Thomas.
York has been charged with burglary and wounding with Intent following an incident in Farm Town, Discovery Bay St. Ann on Saturday, October 5.
Reports from the Discovery Bay police are that at about 3:25 a.m., a woman was home on Saturday, October 5 when she heard sounds coming from her front door. She went to make checks and saw York, who was known to her.
York kicked the door open and attacked her with a knife, which he used to stab her on her right thigh, causing a wound. An alarm was raised, and residents accosted the man and summoned the police.
Police took York and the woman to the hospital. The woman was treated and released. York was arrested and charged.
His court date is being finalised
RAPE ATTEMPT
- Forty-five-year-old Oral Brown otherwise called ‘Ratty’, of Nine Miles, St. Ann has been charged with Burglary and Assault with Intent to Rape following an incident in the community on Sunday, October 13.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that at about 5:00 a.m., Brown entered the complainant’s home while she was sleeping.
He got undressed and attempted to remove the complainant’s shorts and assaulted her. An alarm was raised and the accused was caught by a relative of the complainant whilst trying to escape.
A report was made to the police and on their arrival the accused was apprehended and taken into custody. Brown was charged on Tuesday, October 15. A court date for him is being finalized. -30-
