Mary A.M. White has launched a book, Glass Houses – A Daily Devotional Diary. The launch took place on Thursday, September 13, at the National Library of Jamaica, Kingston.
Ms White, a toastmaster and sales executive has written several articles for the North Coast Times.
Glass Houses – A Daily Devotional Diary is an inspirational book designed to help people build a sweeter communion with the Eternal. The concept and the content of the book is different and speaks to the need of people for an interactive but raw, real and relatable devotional tool.
“We are all living, walking, breathing Glass Houses as our lives cast reflections of each other’s journey” said Miss White.
Each story written in the devotional points back to an experience in her life that she related to. She further said that, “Books attracts books! It’s a writer’s utopia which makes the National Library of Jamaica (NLJ) a perfect authentic vibe for a book launch”
The launch boasted an impressive line-up of readings and special appearances were made by Councillor for the Lawrence Tavern area, John Myers, J.P.; Ackera Gowie, Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2018, (who delivered a reading) and 2011 Festival Song winner Everton Pessoa, who electrified the auditorium with his rhythmic and catchy tunes.
In addition to launching the book, White deposited copies to the NLJ in accordance with the Legal Deposit Act.
To secure a copy of the book, you can visit LMH Publishers, Pelican, Sangsters, UWI Bookshop, Bryan’s Book Store, Kingston Bookshop, Practical Stationery, Krystal Cameron Designs and Urban Books and Publishers.
Ms White told the North Coast Times that a book tour kicks off in St Ann, later this month.
