MAN SLAIN OTHER WOUNDED IN DISCOVERY BAY  ATTACK

SECOND MURDER IN TWO DAYS IN ST ANN

Police are investigating a murder in Discovery Bay, arising from a shooting there Sunday night.

The crime was committed near the informal settlement of Gaza. Up to Monday morning, when the North Coast Times checked the Constabulary Communications Network (CCN), police said they were unable to provide any details, including the name of the man slain. He is known as Steven.

 

The murder is the second in two days in St Ann and follows the death of a 72-year-old retired nurse in her home in Pyramid Heights Ocho Rios, on Saturday morning.

Details are sketchy about the Discovery Bay incident but reports to the North Coast Times are that shortly after 7 p.m., two men were walking toward Gaza when they were attacked. Several shots were fired. Area residents said one of the men died on the scene.  The other was treated at hospital.

RETIREE FOUND DEAD

In the Ocho Rios incident,  72-year-old Lois Murray, was found dead in her house Saturday morning.

It is reported that Ms Murray’s caregiver came to the home about 7:45 and stumbled on her body. Further reports are that a piece of electric cord was wrapped around Ms Murray’s neck and it appeared she was strangled.

Her motorcar was driven away from the home and later found.
