GUN ATTACK IN BAMBOO, ST ANN
Police are investigating the murder of a well-known contractor near his home in Bamboo, St Ann. His infant daughter was injured in the gun attack.
Dead is 40-year-old Orlando Atkinson, otherwise called ‘Junior’, contractor of Lillyfield District, Bamboo, St. Ann.
Police report that Atkinson was shot and killed while his three-year-old child was shot and injured by unknown assailants in his community on Saturday, December 9.
According to the St. Ann’s Bay Police, about 8:15 p.m., Atkinson and his daughter were in his vehicle when armed men approached them and opened gunfire at them. The Police were summoned and on arrival, Atkinson was seen with gunshot wounds to the upper body and his daughter injured. They were transported to the hospital where Atkinson was pronounced dead and his daughter was treated and released.
Police have not given a motive for the shooting. Investigations are ongoing. -30-
