MAN MURDERED IN GAYLE

COPS SEIZE GUN, AMMO WHILE SEARCHING FOR PERSON OF INTEREST

A 68-year-old man was murdered in Gayle, St Mary, Monday, March 3, 2025. Dead is Paul Lloyd, otherwise called “Paul,” of Saltrum, Gayle P.O., St. Mary.

According to a police report to the North Coast Times, Mr. Lloyd was last seen around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, sitting on the steps of a now-closed bar in Saltrum District, Gayle. He was later found with a wound to his head and unresponsive, in an abandoned yard nearby.

The St. Mary police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist the investigation to contact the Gayle Police at 876-875-8112 / 876-333-9530, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, also on Monday, the St Mary police seized a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

The police say, during an operation in Orangefield and Scots Hall communities, on March 3, 2025, law enforcement officers searched an abandoned two-bedroom board house, reportedly occupied by a person of interest. While the individual was not found, the search led to the discovery of one (1) HS2000 Springfield 9mm pistol with a partially erased serial number, along with a magazine containing five (5) 9mm cartridges. The firearm and ammunition were seized.
