2 BADLY INJURED, CAR COMPLETELY BURNT
ANNOTTO BAY, St Mary; May 29, 2025
A man was killed and two others seriously injured in a fiery motor vehicle crash near Annotto Bay, St Mary, on Wednesday afternoon, May 28.
The dead man’s identity was not given but police say he was 29 years old.
The crash occurred along the Golden Grove main road at approximately 5:55 p.m., Wednesday. Reports indicate that a white 2011 Toyota Mark X motor car was travelling in a westerly direction towards Annotto Bay when the driver failed to negotiate a right-hand bend east of the Enfield main road junction. The vehicle veered off the left edge of the roadway, crashed into a drain, came to rest in nearby bushes, and subsequently caught fire.
According to the police, three occupants, including a police officer, were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. All sustained injuries and were transported to the Annotto Bay Hospital. One male occupant, who suffered multiple fractures and head injuries, was pronounced dead while being treated.
The two other occupants sustained serious injuries, including internal bleeding and multiple fractures. One remains in critical condition and is expected to be transferred to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH).

A team from the Annotto Bay Fire Station, led by Acting District Officer A. Williams, responded to the scene and carried out cooling-down operations. The vehicle was completely destroyed by fire.
The St. Mary Police are urging all motorists to exercise extreme caution when using the roadways, especially along winding or unfamiliar routes. Drivers are reminded to obey speed limits, remain alert, and drive with care at all times to prevent the loss of lives and serious injuries.
The St Mary Police are investigating.
