A St Ann man was killed in a traffic crash close to the Noranda Bauxite plant, Discovery Bay, St Ann, Thursday evening. Dead is forty-three-year-old Nigel Gayle, also called ‘Gregory’, an equipment operator of Orang Hill, Brown’s Town, St Ann.Reports from the Discovery Bay Police are that at about 6:40 p.m., the driver of a white Nissan Lafesta that was travelling westerly lost control of the vehicle, and it collided with a white Toyota Eltorin motor car that was being driven by Gayle. Reports are that another car had drifted into the path of Gayle’s car causing a collision involving four vehicles. This took place at what drivers have complained about as a badly constructed road island close to the entrance of the bauxite plant. All the injured persons were taken to the St Ann’s Bay hospital where Gayle was pronounced dead and the other persons were treated. The driver of the white Nissan Lafesta was warned for prosecution. Investigations continue.
