Reports are that she was assaulted
A man has been held for the sexual assault and murder of a senior citizen in Great Pond, Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Dead is 74-year-old Elise Joyce Russell of the same district.
Reports are that Ms. Russell’s body was found on Main Street in the large residential community, Monday morning.
It is believed she was hit over the head and strangled.
Initial suspicion is that Ms. Russell was walking on the road to a nearby shot Sunday evening and was dragged into a house by a man who assaulted her and killed her and assaulted. It is further theorized that her body was kept in the house during a dance that was taking place at a popular bar and her body was dumped after the dance Monday morning.
The man held is believed to be a deportee. He is to be questioned.
