ST MARY’S FIRST ROAD FATALITY IN 2025
St Mary recorded its first traffic fatality on Friday night, January 3, 2025, when a pillion rider fell from a motorcycle along the Ross Common road, near Three Hills in the parish.
Dead is 28-year-old Javeed Watson, a construction worker, of Rock Hill Retreat in the parish.
According to Police reports to the North Coast Times, at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, Watson was a pillion on a Road Hawk CG200 motorcycle with no registration plate affixed. Watson fell off the motorcycle onto the roadway. Then driver of the motorcycle then fell off. The police report did not indicate what led to the men’s falls.
They were both taken to hospital where Watson was pronounced dead and the other man treated.
Up to Sunday morning, January 5, five people have been killed in road crashes.
