The man shot at a St Ann hotel on Monday night has died. He is 39-year-old Leo Henry, also called Lion, of Belle Air Meadows, St Ann.
Henry, a taxi operator, died yesterday (Tuesday) in hospital of a gunshot wound to his chest. He was shot at a party at Bahia Principe, Runaway Bay after attacking and stabbing his former live -in girlfriend who is a member of the hotel’s senior staff.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that an altercation developed between Henry and the woman, near midnight, at a staff party at Bahia Principe Hotel, Runaway Bay. Henry stabbed her at least two times and a senior security officer fired once hitting him. The bullet exited Henry’s body and hit the woman’s 18-year-old son. He was hospitalized with a flesh wound.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting but the security officer has not been arrested. The hotel is also said to be doing its own investigations as reports of disquiet there continue to emerge.
