WOMAN’S BODY WAS FOUND WITH STAB WOUNDS
Forty-year-old Theron Lugg otherwise called ‘Ruddy’ of Windsor Heights, St.
Ann and Harbour Street, St. Ann has been charged with Murder regarding the stabbing death of a
woman on Market Street in the parish on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
She has been identified as 48-year-old Taneka Mattis of Savanna-La-Mar, Westmoreland and
Ocho Rios, St. Ann.
Reports are that at about 10:45 p.m., on April 7, residents saw the body lying on the roadway and alerted the
police. On their arrival, the woman was seen with multiple stab wounds to the upper body.
Mattis was transported to the hospital, where the death was confirmed.
Investigations continued and Lugg was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 16. He was
charged after a question and answer on Wednesday, April 17.
His court date is being arranged.
