A man who reportedly attacked his brother with a knife at their home in Ocho Rios, St Ann is to appear in court Thursday, January 5, 2023.
Twenty-four-year-old Joash Smith of Eltham, Ocho Rios has been charged with assault at common law following an incident at his home on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
Reports from the Ocho Rios Police are that at about 7:00 p.m., on New Year’s Eve, Smith and his brother were arguing when Smith went to the kitchen and returned with a knife. He then threatened and attacked his brother.
The complainant, who is a licensed firearm holder, then fired a shot to ward off Smith, his attacker, Smith was later taken into custody where he was charged. He is scheduled to appear before the St Ann Parish Court on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
