A Portland man who reportedly used a knife to attack his girlfriend, accusing her of cheating, has been arrested and charged.
He is Quton Smith, a 28-year-old farmer of Red Hassle Road, Port Antonio, Portland. Smith has been charged with wounding with intent arising from the incident on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
Reports are that at about 8:30 p.m., the female, who is the girlfriend of the Smith, went to a relative’s house in Duncan Hill to pick up her child. Smith showed up and started accusing her of cheating.
An argument developed between them and Smith reportedly pulled a ratchet knife and stabbed the woman all over her body. She was taken to the hospital where she was admitted and treated.
Smith was arrested and charged on Saturday, January 7.
His court date will be announced at a later date.
