LATEST TRAGIC TWIST IN ST ANN WOMAN’S DEMISE
The lover and main suspect in the death of a St Ann woman at her home has died.
Kevan Shirley died while in medical care.

Police had named Shirley as the main suspect in the death of his common-law spouse, Cameka Haley, a 44-year-old hospital worker.
His death is the latest twist in this tragic saga that began when Ms Haley was found dead in her bedroom in Marley, Windsor, near St Ann’s Bay in the parish, on Saturday morning, January 27.
Police up to last week said her death was still classified as undetermined and they were awaiting the results of an autopsy
Reports are that Ms. Haley was last seen alive by her son on Thursday evening, January 25. At the time, she was involved in an argument at her home with Shirley.
Her son discovered Ms. Haley’s lifeless body on Saturday morning, January 27, and alerted the authorities.
Upon arrival, the police found her lying on her back on the floor, dressed in a nightgown. They said there were noticeable black and blue marks on her neck and spots of blood on her clothing.
On Monday, January 29, the police conducted a search for Mr. Shirley in Higgins Land, Alexandria, St. Ann. The police report that upon their arrival, Mr. Shirley, who had reportedly ingested a corrosive substance, jumped into a concrete water tank. He was rescued with the assistance of residents and transported to St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
At the weekend, he was moved from that hospital to be taken to the Kingston Public Hospital for treatment. The North Coast Times has been unable to determine at what point he died.
