Progress was made in a lotto scamming case involving three men, who were allegedly caught at an apartment in Runaway Bay, St Ann last year with lotto scamming paraphernalia.

Outstanding documents in the case were submitted when the matter was brought before the St Ann Parish Court on Thursday, March 2.

The accused men are: 21-year-old Sheldon Walker, 20-year-old Desrick Walters and 21-year-old Kevon Johnson, all from Brown’s Town, St Ann.

The investigating officer submitted an outstanding statement in the matter and also three scene of crime CDs in the case.

However, a report from the Communication Forensic and Cybercrime Division (CFCD) was outstanding in the matter.

As a result Walker, Walters and Johnson had their bails extended by senior parish judge Andrea Thomas to return to court on July 6.

Reports are that on Saturday, July 16, a raid was conducted at the apartment where lottery scamming paraphernalia were seized and identity information for over one thousand and fifty people were found on devices.

The police later charged Walker, Walters and Johnson, with breaches of the Law Reform Fraudulent Transaction Special Provisions Act.

All three men were offered $50,000 bail and made their first court appearance in September last year.
