NOMINATION DAY FEBRUARY 8
Local Government Elections are to be held on Monday, February 26.
Nomination Day is set for Thursday, February 8.
The dates were announced Thursday afternoon, February 1, by Minister of Local Government Desmond McKenzie.
The elections, sometimes called Parish Council Elections, are supposed to be held every four years. However, they were last held November in 2016.
The Electoral Office of Jamaica says it will be ready to administer the polls in nearly 300 parish council divisions and across 13 municipal corporations and the Portmore Municipality.
