LIME HALL FC ON BRINK OF GLORY FOR ST ANN

Triumph On Sunday Would Put Them In Top League

Lime Hall FC of St Ann could step into the island’s major football league this weekend by maintaining its advantage over Racing of Portmore, gained last week Sunday.

Lime Hall is one of four teams involved in the second leg of a playoff for two spots in the Jamaica Premier League.

They have one foot already into the League after they beat Racing 3-2 at the St Catherine Prison Oval last weekend. The deciding match for Lime Hall is at Drax Hall, on Sunday, July 2. A draw or better would ensure their place in the Premier League next season

President of the Club Barbara Black, popularly .called Denise, told North Coast Times the team is very confident going into the second of two games. “We are entering Sunday’s match with all confidence,” Ms Black said.

She said so far their progress has been a team effort.

Even so, the team might be hoping that its leading goal scorer Ronaldo Brown adds to his five so far this season.

Asked about the support for the team, Ms Black said they have received almost no support from the business community. “We have to go out there and beg, beg,” she said.

Should Lime Hall FC triumph that will give St Ann two teams in the Premier League, with Mount Pleasant already there as defending champions for the next season.

The League would not be strange for Lime Hall either as they were contestants under the name Benfica for two separate times at the highest level.
