Lawyer for men in Lime Hall arson case to get details of prosecution’s claims

The court is to provide for a defense attorney, details of the case against two men charged with arson in an incident linked to the disappearance of four people in Lime Hall, St Ann.

The two men charged are Junior Campbell, 27, and his brother 23-year-old Shawn Nelson, both of Lime Hall, St Ann.

Both appeared in the St. Ann Parish Court on Friday, September 2.

When the case appeared before senior parish judge Andrea Thomas on the Committal Proceedings mention list, it was revealed that the bundles are not ready to be served on the attorney.

The attorney explained that he had not received a preliminary report in the matter and since the case had been before the courts, he had not received any documents in the matter.

The bundles are to be prepared and served by October 7.

Campbell and Nelson had their bails extended until that time.

Missing since the early morning of Saturday, November 14, 2015 are: fifty-seven-year-old Joseph Lynch, his nephew 43-year-old Lascelles Lynch, 50-year-old Ruth Lawrence, and her niece, seven-year-old Rimeka Haynes.

Reports are that late Friday night into the wee hours of Saturday morning, November 14, a five-bedroom house and two out buildings were destroyed by fire. Police and fire personnel found no sign of the occupants, even after several searches that included cadaver dogs and also interviews with people from the area. It is reported that several bags of pimento were stolen from the property as was at least one head of cattle.

The missing family has never been found and police suspect that they are dead.arson
